About an hour outside of Bishkek is a fantastic river valley surrounded by pine forests and mountains. The river runs rapidly though the valley making a wonderful roar that echos off the mountains. There are trails for all levels of hikers. We headed up along the river on the paved trail. And after checking out some of the local flowers and the river we headed up the side of the mountain.
The trail got steeper and steeper but we kept moving. Fortunately we had some delicious peanuts to provide us with sustenance along our route. It’s hard to know which snacks to try when traveling, but anything called “Macho Cheese” is certainly worth a try. They were delicious of course.
We moved on up the hill, until we reached this spectacular view. We stopped and had snacks with a group of other hikers. An hour up the hill but it was worth every step.
This park is fantastic and offers lots of beautiful scenery and great exercise.
